The details were horrible, a gruesome murder scene. But, stay with me now, I was repeatedly sent screenshots of multiple local TV news segments about the discovery of a body on South Street in Philadelphia this month.
Nobody was making light of the unfolding tragedy. But as clips of the segments made it around social media, lots of people seemed to spot the same thing: a flyer for Philly Tech Week, an event series I founded, was loudly and prominently and almost preposterously emblazoned in the background of nearly every shot. I did not know what to do other than laugh at the absurdity, while of course recognizing the unsettling circumstances.
