Setting aside personal resolutions, I also wanted to take a look at some of my professional accomplishments of the year. (Find my 2012 professional milestones here.)
I took a month-by-month look at 2013 to get a sense of my year, always striving for having a bigger impact than the year before.
- I was included in a company profile by the Temple alumni magazine. [January]
- I was first voted onto the board of governors for the Pen and Pencil Club. [February]
- I was included in a digital literacy public service campaign. [March]
- I helped lead the third-annual Philly Tech Week, with more than 20,000 attendees. [April]
- I moderated a panel for the U.S. Conference of Mayors, among other speaking. [May]
- I graduated from the celebrated LEADERSHIP Philadelphia program. [June]
- I was part of a team that got ‘Best of city’ honors in Philly and Baltimore. [July]
- I again presented during the Philly Geek Awards and poked fun at a friend. [August]
- I shared ‘Philly Life Hacks’ that rolled into an Ignite Philly presentation. [August]
- I helped organize Baltimore city council’s first innovation economy hearing. [September]
- I launched a new theme for this personal site and stuck to weekly writing. [September]
- I attend and spoke at the Online News Association conference in Atlanta. [October]
- I was in a video promoting my friend Eric Smith’s new geek dating book. [November]
- I finished the year as cofounder of an organization with 7 full-time employees. [December]
