I HAVE BEEN IN South Dakota since last Monday, though this blog has been running on forward posts since.
I first met the group I’m visiting now back in 2006. With some other Temple University students, I did some community work in White River – a town of 600, nearly half of whom are American Indian – just north of the Lakota Rosebud reservation. See some photos of that trip below.
don’t know how i stumbled upon this on a slow monday afternoon – – i am in disbelief at all these old pictures of mine you’ve posted…how rarely i ever stop to look at them…i find it funny how the majority of them are my pictures – and yet the sentiments they bring aren’t all good but rather an incredible mixture of anger, resentment, nostalgia, humor, and greatness. how much i have blocked out the memories of that place & looked the other way, it’s good to know someone’s still looking at these pictures & feels good about ’em.
