It’s OK to know what you want

People will make you think otherwise.

It’s my experience that there is considerable resistance to knowing exactly what you want, particularly if you’re upfront about it. That may just be because most people don’t know what they want. Or aren’t comfortable admitting it. So instinctively they push back against those who do.

Don’t let that bother you. Yes, you must waver and compromise for those who are important to you. Yes, distractions can be good at times. But it’s also my experience that if you are consistent and direct about your intentions transparently, over time you’ll weed out those who resist that and build relationships with those who respect you for it.
